Roseberys London appoints Kate Lacey as Watch Specialist. Lacey brings 20+ years’ experience, previously leading watch departments at Bonhams, Phillips, and Sotheby’s. She joined Roseberys in 2022 as a consultant; now permanent. Founded The Shrew in 2021 to promote inclusivity in watch collecting. The department will run four Watches & Luxury Items sales annually, alongside Jewellery auctions. Next sale: Wednesday 24 September, featuring Rolex, Cartier, Patek Philippe, and Hermès highlights.

Fine Art Auctioneers and Valuers Roseberys London has appointed Kate Lacey as Watch Specialist, leading the company’s Watches & Luxury Items sales.

Kate brings more than 20 years of experience in horology, previously holding Director and Specialist positions in the Watch departments at Bonhams, Phillips in association with Bacs & Russo, and Sotheby’s. She has participated in major sales including the record-breaking auction of the original Paul Newman Rolex chronograph in 2017. She joined Roseberys in 2022 as a consultant and now takes on a permanent role. In 2021, she founded The Shrew, a platform aimed at broadening choice and inclusivity for collectors, particularly women. She is a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Clockmakers and a member of the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève.

Roseberys’ Watches & Luxury Items sales will run four times a year alongside Jewellery auctions. The department also benefits from the expertise of Sally He, Luxury Items Specialist, a CCIC-accredited authenticator with detailed knowledge of the global luxury market.

Lot 679: Cartier. An 18ct rose gold and diamond set wristwatch with box and receipt Tonneau, Reference WE400331/2791, Serial number 279140336MX, 3rd December 2007 | Estimate: £7,000 - £9,000

"Since its original launch in 1906, the Tonneau remains one of Cartier's most enduring classics. This diamond-set model is no longer in production, making this a highly covetable timepiece."

Lot 646: E. Gubelin, Lucerne. A 14ct gold manual wind chronograph wristwatch with gloss black dial Case, Circa 1940 | Estimate: £2,000 - £3,000

"Signed timepieces from Gübelin are rare and this example from the 1940s is particularly sought after for its gloss black dial."

Lot 674: Vacheron Constantin. A manual wind bracelet watch in the shape of a shell with concealed dial. Circa 1960 | Estimate: £3,000 - £5,000

"Vacheron were well known for their playful case designs in the 1950s and 1960s and this is a wonderful example of a form watch of the period. Elegant and fun."

Lot 669: Jaeger-LeCoultre. An automatic calendar wristwatch with power reserve indication, circa 1950 | Estimate: £1,800 - £2,200

"This is a quintessentially 1950s watch from Jaeger-Lecoultre; the spider lugs and pared back dial layout make for an understated and stylish watch."
